Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights, is one of the most celebrated Jewish holidays. The celebration begins on the 25th day of the Hebrew month Kislev, which usually coincides with December. For eight nights, we come together to light the Menorah, exchange gifts, eat special foods, and joyously recall the story of Hanukkah. On the eighth and final night, the celebration of Hanukkah ends in a meaningful and celebratory way with certain special traditions.
The Last Day of Hanukkah is a time of joyous celebration, with the recitation of rituals and the thoughtful exchange of blessings. On this special day, we come together and thank God for the miracle of Hanukkah, when a single day’s worth of oil lit the Menorah for eight days in the ancient Temple.
