One of the most popular Hanukkah customs involves giving presents to children. Gifts range from coins called gelt to toys, candy, and books. During Hanukkah, it is also common to eat traditional foods fried in oil like potato latkes, sufganiyot, and doughnuts.

Entertainment

Games are also popular during this festive holiday. One very fun and popular game is dreidel. This game is played with a four sided spinning top, each side with a letter from the Hebrew alphabet. The object of the game is to collect the most tokens in play. Other games like card games and board games are also played during Hanukkah.
